Nouns

A noun is name for a thing, or a place, or a person, or even something a bit mair vague like 'idea' or 'wish' or 'life'. If it is a proper noun like Moira or Jock or Edinburgh or Peterheid, it'll hae a capital letter. If it is a common noun, ye can maistlike pit it in a sentence wi 'the' in front o it like this:

  • The hoose is big.
  • We can say 'hoose' is a noun. Noo whit aboot 'dae'?
  • Ye cannae say: The dae is big. That's jist daft.

Can ye jalouse if thir wirds here are common nouns:
Dug, mither, or, bonnie, frae, bairn, braw, craw.
